Various technical advances in recent years helped the quality of medical imaging data sets (CT, MRI, ultrasound) increase continuously. For both complex surgeries on organs as well as the examination of, for example, ligament ruptures or bone fractures extensive imaging data can be acquired. Apart from a diagnosis and virtual operative preparations, the further use of these data sets is the new problem-solving approach. Different procedures make it possible to create models of almost every anatomic part of the human body at a ratio true to scale. We use the advantages of 3D pinting technology which allows the precise manufacturing of especially complex structures accurate to the decimillimetre. The necessary work flow can be displayed. After medical data acquisition the respective part will be segmented and, if need be, constructively adjusted before manufacturing preparation can start.
